According to Anorak Research data, more than 2.14 lakh housing units will be completed by 2020. Despite the second wave being high in the first half of 2021, about 2.78 lakh housing units will be completed in the first seven cities this year.
Most of the total houses completed in 2021 are almost completed in NCR. While there were 86,590 units in NCPR last year, 47,160 units were completed by 2020. This means that last year's housing construction was almost 84% higher than by 2020.
► Approximately in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). 70,490 units will be completed in 2021 and 54,720 units in 2020.
Approximately in Pune. 46,090 units will be completed in 2021 and 40,840 units in 2020.
Housing construction is similar in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. 63,870 units will be completed in 2021 and 59,730 units in 2020
11,920 units were completed in Kolkata in 2020 and 11,620 units in 2021.
Commenting on the research results, Anoorak Group Chairman Anuj Puri said, "The data suggests that 3.85 lakh units should be completed in the top 7 cities by 2022. Puri said construction was underway in most cities and the impact of the third wave on reality was very small. With this, most of the house constructions are likely to be completed as per the schedule in 2022. Anuj Puri, Chairman, Anorak Group, said that developers are committed to completing projects that have already been launched before launching new ones.
