EPL: Abramovich to receive offers to sell Chelsea this week as Russia-Ukraine war escalates

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich will receive bids to sell the club this week, with at least three parties interested in buying, the UK Telegraph reports.

The 55-year-old bought the Premier League club in 2003, but on Saturday, he announced he was transferring the stewardship of the Blues to their six trustees.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it is understood that offers are being prepared to reach the billionaire.

Abramovich could receive three offers by the end of the week to sell.

It has previously been said that Chelsea are not for sale.

But the potential bidders believe Abramovich could be open to doing business for the first time.

Abramovich has loaned Chelsea £1.5billion through holding company Fordstam, although he has shown no signs of ever demanding repayment.

Previous soundings out of bids worth up to £2.2bn have been rejected out of hand.

It has been claimed that Abramovich is looking to sell his mansion in Kensington Palace Gardens imminently.
