EPL: Roy Keane, Dawson slam Romero for laughing at Maguire after own goal
Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has been criticised for taunting Harry Maguire after the Manchester United defender scored an own goal during their 3-2 win over Spurs.
The Red Devils recorded a 3-2 win over Tottenham with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick to help his side reclaim the top four positions.
Tottenham equalised twice through Harry Kane and a Maguire own goal but the Portuguese superstar made sure the Red Devils kept their hopes of finishing top four alive.
However, Romero’s reaction to Maguire’s own goal has caused quite the stir on social media.
After Maguire mistakingly found his own net, Romero was seen bending over and laughing in the England international’s face as he sat slumped on the floor.
This action by the player did not sit well with Manchester United legend Roy Keane and former Tottenham star Michael Dawson.
“Not good, no,” Keane responded when asked about the incident. “Not good, getting all up for that.
“You remember. When you’re a player, you take note of that, don’t worry.”
Dawson added: “It comes back to haunt you.
“Certainly as a defender, you make mistakes, things like that don’t go right. It could be you next week.”
